The Poison series

Christian Dior Perfume For Women

Dior makes beautiful and classy perfumes for women and ones which either fit specific occasions or are preferred more for everyday usage. With the launch of the original Poison Dior perfume in 1985, the Poison Perfume brand came into being for the ladies. This brand has risen in popularity over the years, paving the road for it to become its own profitable brand inside the Christian Dior design house. All of the fragrances in the Poison perfumes collection are created at the Dior Factory. Read below to know more about some of the best perfumes in the Christian Dior Poison Perfume series.

Poison original:

Talking about Christian Dior’s perfumes and the chronological order, the first to come was the Poison, the original in 1985. It would not be an exaggeration to claim that the original Poison was responsible for the 1980s scents' "loud" reputation. It's a powerful tuberose oriental with a berry, spicy, musky interlay, quite typical of the era, produced superbly by Edouard Flechier and smells fantastic if used sparingly.

Notes about the original Poison:

The top note includes orange blossom, honey, berries, and pimento while the bottom notes include opoponax, ambergris, and labdanum.

Tendre Poison:

Tendre Poison, again composed by Edouard Flechier, was amongst the best to be released 9 years later (1994). Christian Dior Tendre Poison Perfume is a light green flower with freesia that's a little harsh and soapy. Pale woods provide the foundation, with a gently powdery undertone that draws you in. Although it is sometimes compared to the original Poison, there is no true comparison. Tendre Poison is well-behaved, apparently quite lovely and prim, but up close it is an unsmiling and harsh one. It's comfortable to wear all year and has good sillage and longevity. Bottle is light green with a green box.

Notes for Tendre Poison:

The top notes for Tendre Poison include mandarin and galbanum and the bottom notes include sandalwood and vanilla.

Hypnotic Poison:

If we are talking about Christian Dior’s Hypnotic Poison, it is an essential perfume for every woman's collection. It's sensuous and alluring, making it ideal for romance and entertainment.  Hypnotic Poison is a lovely night time fragrance that combines almond and jasmine. It is counted among the stronger scents that last longer, making them ideal for dates and nights out.

Notes for Hypnotic Poison:

Hypnotic Poison perfume combines elements of almond, jasmine, and caraway, making it a scent to die for.

Pure Poison:

Christian Dior released Pure Poison in 2004, six years after Hypnotic Poison and nearly two decades after the first Poison scent. Christian Dior Pure Poison perfume tries to appeal to modern sensibilities (and modern fragrance tastes) while staying true to Poison's original concept as the venom to catch your man. It's aimed for 21st-century young women who are passionate, down-to-earth, and capable of turning their greatest goals into reality, yet lack the self-centered attitude that characterised the 1980s.

Notes for Pure Poison:

It features notes of jasmine, sweet orange, bergamot, mandarin, orange blossom, gardenia, sandalwood, musk, and white amber, and was created by perfumers Carlos Benam, Dominique Ropion, and Olivier Polge.

Midnight Poison:

Midnight Poison is one of Christian Dior Poison Perfume's most sensual and intriguing aromas, with a distinct caramel and vanilla scent. Christian Dior Midnight Poison Perfume is a stunning blend of three of the most addicting Poison Perfumes: Hypnotic Poison, Pure Poison, and Midnight Poison, which was first released in 2008. This is the scent to wear if you want to have a wonderful evening with someone special or create an impact.

Notes for Midnight Poison:

Midnight Poison is the strongest option in the brand because it combines numerous Poison smells. The top notes consist of mandarin orange, bergamot and the bottom comprise patchouli, vanilla, and amber.

The Poison series elixirs

Francois Demarchy created the Dior Elixirs with the goal of creating a more powerful impression by combining the sumptuous foundation notes of the original Poison with specifically selected flavours. The boudoir-style design features bulb atomisers on the bottle. Each container is designed to match the colour pattern of the perfumes it is named after. The formula is alcoholic rather than silicone-based, thus it's sprayed like a typical Eau de Parfum. Here are some of the top elixirs by Dior:

  • Pure Poison ElixirPoison's first Elixir variant, Pure Poison Elixir, was released in 2006. Although the notes suggest a distinct scent, there is no major difference between this and the previous Pure Poison, except for a sweeter, slightly powdery, and warmer base that lasts a long time on the skin.

  • Hypnotic Poison Elixir:The Hypnotic Poison Elixir was released in 2008. The licorice-star anise mix is based on the original Hypnotic Poison fragrance. However, it has a scent that is very similar to conventional Hypnotic Poison, however the tenacity is significantly greater.

  • Midnight Poison Elixir: Midnight Poison Elixir (2008) is made with intense, sensuous, savory tones of caramel - sweet and toothsome and with an enticing toasted smell - and the mellow, enveloping aromas of vanilla. It's very identical to conventional Midnight Poison, except for the richer caramel base, which throws it off.

FAQs :-

1. What can you do with old perfume?

There are many things you can do with your old perfume such as use as a scented diffuser, air freshener, room spray, bulb aroma vaporiser, DIY scented bath, scented toilet roll, or on the business card, notepaper, letter. For instance, if you want to use the old perfumes as an air freshener, all you need to do is simply spritz the remaining perfume on dry cotton balls or unscented dried flowers. After everything is finished, you can put these small aromatic wonders in the drawer, wardrobe, or under the pillow for best results.

2. What type of perfume lasts the longest?

The power of perfume depends on the congelation of the fragrance oil. The concentration of aromatic components determines the perfume's intensity and longevity. The longer an essential oil lasts, the higher its concentration. Because water and alcohol evaporate faster than essential oils, the scent will have more power and vitality in general. The concentration of essential oils also boosts the sillage of the perfume and 'Perfume' or 'Pure Perfume' lasts the longest.

3. Does Vaseline make a perfume last longer?

The answer is yes. It is a great hack to smear a small amount of vaseline on your pulse points. Once you apply a small bit of vaseline to your pulse points before applying your scent, your perfume is sure to last longer and give it more life. The balm will assist the aroma to remain longer by acting as an additional moisturising lock.

If you want a scent that exudes sophistication and luxury, look no further than Christian Dior's Poison line. You can't go wrong with any of these beautiful, feminine smells to highlight your individuality and create a romantic atmosphere.
