Her grandfather, Emile Gilot, was a chemist and perfume manufacturer. She launched Paloma Picasso in the 1980s, creating fashions and perfumes—like rose chypre Paloma Picasso Mon Perfum—and unveiling Mon Rouge, her exclusive true-red lipstick. The diversely-talented designer Paloma also starred in 1974’s praised movie, Immoral Tales.
